Tom graduated from the University of Huddersfield in Sports Therapy in 2008. This allowed him to become a fully registered member of the Society of Sports Therapists. Tom has further qualifications in Acupunture for Sports and Muscular Skeletal conditions, advanced Kinesiology taping and is registered with the Football Medicine and Performance Association (FMPA).

Since his graduation, over the past 15 years, Tom's main working experience has come in professional football. Working with clubs such as Bury FC and Ipswich Town FC. Whilst at Bury FC Tom was the Head of the medical department for over 10 years. He is currently still working in professional football assisting Bolton Wanderers FC.

Tom brings not only years of experience but further close connections to some of the top specialists in the country alongside those already in connection with other members of the Injury Mechanics team
